Tukhaev ahead, Nitin & Saptarshi lead Indian charge
Ukraine Grandmaster Tukhaev Adam (7.5) with a quick draw in the top board against fellow Ukrainain Bernadskiy Vitaliy, maintained his lead after the eighth round of the 9th Chennai Open Grandmaster Chess tournament 2017 for the Sakthi Group Dr N Mahalingam Trophy at the New Media Hall, Nehru Stadium, Chennai here today.
Following the leader at 7.0 points were GMs Deviatkin Andrei (Rus) and Czebe Attila (Hun) respectively. Further half a point behind at 6.5 points were seven players including India’s International Masters Nitin S and Saptarshi Roy.
Two rounds remain, in this Rupees Eleven lakhs prize money event that concludes tomorrow 25th Jan, 2017.
