India won against Mongolia in the six round and moved to joint second position along with three other countries.

Pranav playing black side accepted the sacrificed pawn in return for good counterplay for the opponent and kept on guarding the threats on d6 and e file. Ultimately his opponent gave up another pawn and then it was a technical win for Pranav.

Pranesh displayed yet another strong opening preparation and his opponent too gave a thematic pawn sacrifice but could not get any compensation for the pawn. Pranesh soon wrapped up the game.

Mruttika was very impressive today in her game against higher rated player Amilal from Mongolia. She displayed good technique in converting a pawn up rook ending today and it was a clean victory.

On the fourth board, Rohit was surprised by the opening played by Khuslen and in time pressure he blundered a piece which could not covered back.

On the top board, Turkey kept their winning streak by winning against Cuba though they had minus positions on 3 boards. Top seed Iran is back in form by beating Kazakhastan by  3-1 score and will be playing against leader Turkey tomorrow.

The last three games remained to be played and India will be facing second seed Uzbekistan-2 in 7th round. Uzbekistan in good spirit with winning  2022 Chess Olympiad in Open section recently held at Chennai will be a tough opponent tomorrow.
