Birthday Greetings for Viswanathan Anand

On behalf of the Indian Chess fraternity, All India Chess Federation wishes Viswanathan Anand a very a happy birthday!

Today the five-time World Chess Champion turns forty nine. He was born on 11 December 1969 in Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu.

Anand has been playing chess for four decades now, out of which, he has stayed at the absolute top of the world for more than two decades. Anand learned the rules of our game at the age of six.

His towering career has spanned longer than many of the current chess players have lived! Yet, despite being the oldest player in the block, he continues to be among the best in the world.
