Shahil Dey wins AICF North -Eastern States Chess Championship 2021

Top seed International Master Shahil Dey of Assam clinched the AICF North-Eastern State Chess Championship 2021 with 10 points out of possible 11. Kingshuk Debnath of Tripura and Rahul Gurung of Sikkim finished as first and second runner up respectively with 8 points.

Susmita Lama of Sikkim adjudged as Best Female Player while Souradeep Deb of Assam and Tanmay Rajbongshi of Assam finished as best among Under-15 and Under-10 age categories and Zonunsanga T of Mizoram becomes the Best Unrated player of the event.

This one lakh prize money event attracted a total number of 195 players from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Sikkim participated in this prestigious event.

All India Chess Federation congratulate all the prize winners, participants and State Associations for their active participation.
