Mitrabha crowned as National Online Champion; Savitha Shri wins Girls Junior title

International Master Mitrabha Guha of West Bengal crowned as Online National Champion after scoring 10 points of out possible 11 in the National Online Championship concluded on Wednesday. Grandmaster Vaibhav Suri of Delhi finished as first runner up while six players tied for the third spot. After play off matches, top seed Grandmaster Abhijeet Gupta of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board finished as second runner up with 8.5 points while IM Harikrishnan A Ra of Tamilnadu, IM Sayantan Das of Railways, IM Sidhant Mohapatra of Odisha, IM Rathanvel V S of Tamilnadu and GM Thejkumar MS of Railways finsished at fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.

Meanwhile in the Junior Girls category which held simultaneously, four players namely Vantika Agrawal of Delhi, Arpita Mukherjee of West Bengal, Savitha Shri B and Priyanka K of Tamilnadu tied for the pole position and the play off tie break matches also not broken the deadlock of Vantika and Savitha for the champion spot. The Armageddon tie break decide the winner and Savitha Shri becomes champion after winning the tensed Armageddon game. National Women champion Vantika finished as first runner up. Priyanka finished third and Arpita satisfied with fourth spot finish.
