MPL 32nd National Under 17 OPEN & GIRLS Chess Championships 2022:Report

Finally, MPL 32nd National Under 17 OPEN & GIRLS Chess Championship 2022 concluded with Valedictory ceremony-cum-Prize Distribution, at 04:30 P.M. on 09 July 2022 at International Chess Hall, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. The total prize funds were Rs.9,00,000/- (Nine Lakh) Rs.4,50,000/- for each category.

GIRLS Category :

The 3rd seed WFM Bhagyashree Patil, 1908 from Maharashtra, clinched the Championship trophy with 9 points (7 win 4 draw with no loss) and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 90,000/-. The 11th seed Sneha Halder, 1601 of West Bengal lost the last battle and became Runner-up with 8.5 points (7 win, 3 draw & one loss) & awarded a cash prize of Rs. 70,000/-. The 7th seed Tejaswini G, 1664 of Tamil Nadu became 2nd Runner-up & bagged Rs. 58,000/- scored 8 points (6 wins, 4 draws & one loss ).

OPEN Category :
The 6th seed CM Mayank Chakraborty, 2069 from Assam, clinched the Championship trophy with 8.5 points ( 6 wins 5 draw with no loss) and awarded a cash prize of Rs.90,000/-. The 2nd seed Harshad S, 2236, Tamil Nadu won against the 6th seed Manish Kumar from Odisha and scored 8.5 points ( 6wins 5 draw with no loss) and awarded a cash prize of Rs.70,000/-. The top seed of the tournament FM Harsh Suresh, 2321 of Tamil Nadu became 2nd Runner-up & bagged 58,000/- scored 8 points (6 wins 4 draws & one loss).
