National Junior Under 19 : Adireddy Arjun & Shubhi Gupta Champion .

52nd National Junior Under 19 Open Chess Championship & 37th National Junior Under 19 Girls Chess Championship 2023 took place at Karnavati Club, Gujarat organized by Gujarat State Chess Association from 20th to 28th September 2013.

This event attracted a total number of 359 players from different 26 States of India, 227 in Open category and 132 in Girls category with 209 rated payers in open and 109 rated payers in girls which includes one  International Master, six Fide Masters, one Women International Master and three Women FIDE Masters. The event conducted under Swiss system with 11 rounds and the time control was 90 minutes and 30 second increment from move 1.

In the girls section Sneha Halder of West Bengal domintated till the end of the 7th round with 7 points.  In the 8th round she tasted a defeat at the hand of Ishvi Agarwal of Haryana. Shubi Gupta of Uttar Pradesh defeated Sneha Halder in the 10 round and Bagyashree Paril in the 11th round with 9.5 points that paved the way to cinch the title of the 37th National Junior Girls.  Khairmode Dhanashree of Maharashtra and Sneha Halder of West Bengal finished 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

In the open section Adireddy Arjun of Telengana took a lead at the end of the 9th round. In the final round he defeated Alekhya Mukhopadhyay of West Bengal and became the Champion of the 52nd National Junior Open section with 10 points.  IM Manish Anto Christiano of Tamilnadu became 2nd with 9.5 points.  4 players scored 8.5 points Bharadia Yash of Rajasthan came third with better tie-break score.  

Earlier the event was inaugurated by Jayesh Modi, Secretary, Karnavati Club on 20th September 2023.  Mr. Bhavesh Patel, Vice President, AICF, Mr. Viral Patel. Director, Karnavati Club,  Mr. A. K. Raizada, Secretary, UP Chess Association, Mr. Mayur Patel, Vice President, GSCA were also present at Inaugural ceremony.

This event went on very well without  much problem.  Gujarat State Chess Association organized this event so well that was appreciated by many parents in a group. 

At the prize distribution function Shri R. S. Ninama, Directory General, Sports Authority of Gujarat was the Chief Guest addressed the gathering.  Other guests present were Shri Debabrata Bhatta, Secretary, All Odisha Chess Association, Shri K. Sivaprasad, President, Telangana State Chess Association, Shri Mayur Patel, Vice President, Gujarat State Chess Association, Shri Bhavesh Patel, Vice President, Gujarat State Chess Association, Shri Jayesh Modi, Secretary, Karnavati Club, Shri Viral Patel Director, Karnavati Club and Shri A. C. Joshi, Dy. Chief Arbiter and distributed the prizes.
