Tukhaev Adam 7/7 increases lead, Sahaj shares second spot

Ukraine Grandmaster Tukhaev Adam (7.0) increased his lead to a full point after the seventh round of the 9th Chennai Open Grandmaster Chess tournament 2017 for the Sakthi Group Dr N Mahalingam Trophy at the New Media Hall, Nehru Stadium, Chennai here today.

Scoring his seventh win on a row, GM Tukhaev Adam (7.0) scored a spectacular miniature to defeat GM Horvath Adam of Hungary in the top board. Following the leader a full point behind at 6.0 points were GMs Grover Sahaj (India), Czebe Attila (Hungary), Jacek Stopa (Pol), Andrei Deviatkin (Rus) and Bernadskiy Vitaliy (Ukr) respectively.

3 rounds remain to be played in this Rupees Eleven lakhs prize money event that concludes on 25th Jan, 2017.
