India Crush Poland 3.5-0.5

India defeated Poland by a wide margin to move to the joint fourth place in the World Women’s Team Chess Championship that is taking place at Chengdu in China on April 27, 2015.
The three medal winners are clearly identified. Georgia leads with 15, followed by Russia on 13 and China on 11. Others including India are on eight points and behind. China can help Russia by defeating Georgia in the final round. Russia faces USA and India take on Armenia. China has not fielded Ju Wenjun for the final game.
Humpy, Soumya and Mary Ann Gomes won while Harika drew in board two. Padmini Rout was rested for India in this game.
Georgia are well placed to win this 10-player event. India has won three matches, lost three and drawn two matches. A victory in the final round will help them to finish fourth.
The results (round eight): India beat Poland 3.5-0.5; Kazakhstan beat Egypt 3.5-0.5; Ukraine lost to Russia 1.5-2.5; USA lost to China 0.5-3.5; Georgia beat Armenia 3-1.
