10th MPL National Amateur Chess Championship, Punjab 2023 :Final Report

10th MPL National Amateur Chess Championship, Punjab 2023 10th MPL National Amateur chess Championship was organized in Sangrur, Punjab, in Golden Valley Resort from 18 to 22 Feb 2023. This event was in 6 categories-Rating 2300 Open and women, Rating 2000 Open and women, Rating
1700 Open and women, As mentioned in circular, since only 9 women were playing in rating 2000 women category, this category was merged into 2000 open category, so in all 5 categories were played in this prestigious event. All rounds were started in time and there was no any protest or complaint during the event. The organizer showed great hospitality to all the players coming from different states, all arrangements were spectacular. On 18th Feb Opening function was organized followed by players meeting. For the opening function Hon cabinet Minister of Punjab, Shri Aman Arora; Punjab chess association President Munishji Thapar; Rakesh Gupta and other dignitaries were on dais. IPS officer Shri Surendra Lamba, also visited and encouraged the players during the event. For the Closing
function on 22 Feb Shri Ashok Kumar Lakha, Chairman Gau seva Commission of Punjab graced the event among other respected dignitaries. Deputy Chief Arbiter Shri Varunkumar did great job along with 7 SNA
arbiters from Punjab and volunteers helped make this event a grand success. In this Tournament 7 SNA Arbiter were given FA norms. Thank you for all officials and rating officer of AICF for supporting us throughout and for making this event successful.
