39th NATIONAL UNDER-7 OPEN & GIRLSCHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS – 2026

The 39th National Under-7 Open & Girls Chess Championships – 2026 commenced in grand style today at GH Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur , Maharashtra. The prestigious championship is being held from 30 June to 04 July 2026, bringing together the country’s most talented young chess players to compete for national honours.

The glittering opening ceremony was graced by GM Divya Deshmukh, who graced the championship in the presence of distinguished guests, officials, dignitaries, and members of the chess fraternity. Her presence served as a great source of inspiration for the budding players participating in the event.

The championship, organized by Maharashtra Chess Association & Chess Association Nagpur under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation (AICF), marks the beginning of the national age-group championship season and has attracted hundreds of young participants from across the country, promising five days of exciting and high-quality chess action.
