Today, after the 7th round of Bhopal International GM chess tournament 2017, GM Gareyev Timur (USA) is leading the tournament with maximum points.

On the top table, American Grand Master Gareyev Timur who is also the top seeded player of the event won against David Alberto in an amazing match of just 37 moves. The match was played in closed Ruy Lopez and Timur slowly built an attack on the White’s kingside by giving timely pawn breaks. David had to resign on move 37.

On the second table, GM Rozum Ivan of Russia drew against Khusenkhojaev Muhammad.

On the 3rd table Indian IM Girish A. Koushik who won his previous game against Senthil Maran K, drew against experienced Vietnamese Grand Master Nguyen Duc Hoa. The match was played in the English Opening.

In other important matches, FM Erigaisi Arjun drew GM Atalik Suat, GM Tran Tuan Minh defeated Moksh Amit Doshi and IM Ratnakaran lost to Malaysian IM Yeoh Li Tian.
