Western Asian Youth Chess Championships : India overall champions

The Indian team garnered four gold, four silver & three bronze medals to win the overall championship in the Western Asian Youth Chess Championships which concluded in Maldives. Kazakhstan finished as first runner up and Uzbekistan finished third.
Gold Medal Winners for India : Hanya Shah Under-10 Girls; Safin Safarullakhan Under-8 Open; Goutham Krishna H Under-12 Open & Sahib Singh Under-14 Open
Silver Medal Winners : Modipalli Deekshitha Under-10 Girls; Shubhi Gupta Under-12 Girls; Keerti Shree Reddy Under-18 Girls & Reyaansh Venkat Under-8 Open.
Bronze Medal Winners : Boramanikar Tanisha S Under-16 Girls; Rindhiya V Under-18 Girls & Harshad S
In the Rapid & Blitz categories, which not counted for overall championship, the following players made the country proud by winning medals
Rapid :-
Gold : Safin Safarullakhan Under-8 Open, Goutham Krishna H Under-12 Open, Sahib Singh Under-14 Open, Harshad S Under-18 Open & Bhagyashree Patil Under-18 Girls.
Silver : Reyaansh Venkat Under-8 Open, Shubhi Gupta Under-12 Girls, Pragnya H G Under-14 Girls & Rindhiya V Under-18 Girls
Bronze : Hanya Shah Under-10 Girls & Keerti Shree Reddy Under-18 Girls
Blitz :-
Gold : Safin Safarullakhan Under-8 Open, Sahib Singh Under-14 Open, Harshad S Under-18 Open & Bhagyashree Patil Under-18 Girls
Silver : Hanya Shah Under-10 Girls & Shubhi Gupta Under-12 Girls.
Bronze : Pragnya H G Under-14 Girls
Safin Safarullakhan in Under-8 Open and Sahib Singh in Under-14 Open made a clean sweep by winning Gold in all three formats.
