Final Report of 37th National Under-07 and Under 07 Girls Chess Championship2024

The 37th National Under-07 and Girls Chess Championship 2024 concluded with a grand closing ceremony in Mysuru, celebrating a vibrant and competitive event. A total of 382 young chess players from 28 states participated, displaying exceptional talent and sportsmanship. The championship identified the top four winners who will represent India at the Asian and World Chess Championships in the Under-08 categories in 2025. Prizes were awarded to the top 20 players in each category, with a total prize pool of ₹5 lakhs distributed among the winners.

Top 3 Winners in the Category:

  1. Devanarayanan Kalliyath (Kerala) – 9/9,
  2. Prayank Gaonkar (Goa) – 8/9,
  3. Aaradhyo Guin (West Bengal) – 7.5/9,

Top 3 Winners in the Girls Category:

  1. Aaranya R (Tamil Nadu) – 8/9,
  2. Arpitangshi Bhattacharya (West Bengal) – 8/9,
  3. Saiaastha Singh (West Bengal) – 7.5/9,

The closing ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including Shri.D. P. Anantha, President of the Karnataka State Chess Association, Shri Bhavesh Patel, eminent delegates of the Gujarat State Chess Association, and other notable figures, who presented the prizes and congratulated the participants. Their presence added to the event’s grandeur, leaving a lasting impression on the young talents.

This championship provided a valuable platform for young players to showcase their skills and has paved the way for their future success in international chess competitions.
