Final report of SNA seminar and exam held in Kandivali West ,Mumbai on 24 & 25 May 2025

As many as 50 candidates representing state of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu attended the two days SNA Seminar cum Examination held on 24th &25th May, 2025 at the Swami Vivekanand International School, Kandivali West, Mumbai. On behalf of All India Chess Federation ,CHESSKRAFT Academy, Mumbai under the guidance of Maharashtra Chess Association has organized this two days program. The resource person was IA S.Paul Arokia Raj, who was appointed by AICF as the Lecturer cum Examiner.

       Following topics were covered in the Seminar:

  1. Laws of Chess
  2. Tiebreak regulations,
  3. Rating regulations
  4. Swiss pairing
  5. Arbiter regulations
  6. Anti-Cheating regulations
  7. Standards of Chess equipment
  8. Competition rules
  9. Basic ideas of title regulations

       All the participants were provided with the course materials. On day 1, Salient features of all the Articles of Laws of Chess were discussed and explained in detail with relevant interpretation and suitable case study. All the participants interacted  in the discussion. The lecturer answered to all their queries with suitable examples clearing their doubts.. Also they were taught on initial rating calculation and changes in the rating calculation with relevant examples. All of them were also given a snap test to do rating calculation on their own. Also topics covered on day 1 was Arbiters regulations, Anti Cheating regulations, Competition rules and standard of chess equipment.

    On day 2 Rapid and Blitz rules were highlighted with relevant case studies. Also Swiss Pairing rules was handled with practical examples. While discussing tie break regulations many illustrative examples were shared to clear all doubts on tie break for the candidates. Also lecture was given on Basic title regulations. Finally the candidates were explained about the examination pattern, scheme of marks and few sample questions were discussed.

     On the afternoon of day 2, examination was conducted, by assigning the candidates their respective seats according to their serial number to avoid any unfair practice. The total duration of the examination was 3 hours.All the 50 candidates turned up for the examination with no absentee.(Garde :A & B are qualified for SNA Title & FIDE NA License)

All the participants awarded with SNA title (A & B) are required to be registered with AICF as Arbiter as well as get their FIDE NA License prior to officiating in any FIDE rated event. They must be licensed before officiating in any FIDE-rated event or attending FIDE Arbiter Seminar. To get NA License please pay an amount of Rs. 3370/- at https://prs.aicf.in/pay and intimate the details (Name, FIDE ID and Screenshot of payment) by email to aicf.acct@gmail.com cc to indianchessfed@gmail.com .

**All other participants (C & D) eligible to officiate all events except FIDE rated ones
