Final report :Senior National Arbiter Seminar cum Examination at Guwahati 2025 on 20 & 21 Sept 2025

The Senior National Arbiter Seminar-cum-Examination was organized by the All Assam Chess Association on behalf of the All India Chess Federation at Hotel Fortune, near Apsara Cinema Hall, opposite Purna Bharti Gas (CNG), Paltan Bazar, Guwahati. On 19th September 2025, the legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg passed away in Singapore. As a mark of respect, the Government of Assam declared a state-wide holiday on 20th September 2025, resulting in the closure of all schools, colleges, private institutions, and government offices across the state. Consequently, the seminar was conducted online for participants who were unable to attend physically, while others attended in person. The seminar was adjourned at 11:30 a.m. on 21st September 2025.

The remaining portion of the syllabus was completed through the Zoom platform from 8th to 10th December 2025, between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. A doubt-clearing session followed by the examination was conducted on 14th December 2025 at D’ Agneedeep Hotel, near Rajib Bhawan, Tarun Nagar, ABC Bus Stop, Byelane-2, G.S. Road, Guwahati, Assam – 781005.

A total of 51 participants registered for the seminar, of whom 43 attended both the seminar and the examination. Mr. Rajib Dhar, Hon. General Secretary of the All Assam Chess Association, interacted with the participants and emphasized the importance and growing requirement of arbiters in the region. The participants showed keen enthusiasm by actively engaging in discussions, raising questions, and clarifying their doubts. The lecture sessions concluded in the forenoon of 14th December 2025, followed by a three-hour examination in the afternoon with proper seating arrangements.

The All Assam Chess Association, under the guidance of the All India Chess Federation, organized the seminar in an exemplary manner. The air-conditioned and spacious seminar halls provided a conducive environment for both the seminar and the examination. The Association also extended excellent hospitality and ensured a comfortable atmosphere for all participants, enabling them to focus fully on the proceedings without any inconvenience.

All the participants awarded the SNA title (Grade A & B) are required to be registered with AICF as an Arbiter and get their FIDE NA License prior to officiating in any FIDE-rated event.  They must be licensed before officiating in any FIDE-rated event or attending a FIDE Arbiter Seminar.  To get an NA License, please pay an amount of Rs. 3546/- at https://prs.aicf.in/pay(Avoid UPI & Scan) and intimate the details (Name, FIDE ID and Screenshot of payment) by email to  aicf.acct@gmail.com cc to Ratings.aicf@gmail.com & indianchessfed@gmail.com
