India Leads With Most Players In List

India continued to lead the FIDE February 2016 rating list with 54255 players, ahead of all nations. Russian number is 52291, which is 1964 players lower than India. There are five Indians in the World Top 100 and six women in the Women’s Top 100.

The world top 10 players did not have a single rating game last month and as such their ratings remain status quo in the February 2016 list. Only one player, Pentala Harikrishna had two rating games among the world top 20 and he maintained his World No.14 rank.

Indians in the World Top 100: Anand (8), Harikrishna (14), Negi (82), Ganguly (89), Adhiban (99). Indian women in the World Top 100: Humpy (2), Harika (11), Padmini Rout (54), Eesha Karavade (68), Vijayalakshmi (77), Tania Sachdev (100).
