MPL National blitz Chess Championship 2022 was organized by Nashik District Chess Association on behalf of Maharashtra chess association under the aegis of All India chess federation.
The prestigious event was inaugurated on 30th April 2022 in presence of Mr. Jayapalsingh Zapate joint charity commissioner Nashik, Mr. Vinay Bele, Vice President of Maharashtra Chess Association, Mr. Sunil Sharma, Secretary of Nashik District Chess Association,
The one day championship was attracted177 players from various part of the country. Out of which 14 Grand masters, 19 International masters took part in this event. G M Karthikeyan Murali of PSPB was the top seed of the event with ELO rating 2579, The championship witnessed ups and downs when GM Aravind Chithambaram V R lost to IM Ravi Teja S in the 5th round. Later on Arvind bounced back in the Eleventh and final round he defeated GM Mitrabha Guha and clinched the title.
The total prize fund Rs 2,50,000/- distributed among the top 15 prize winners by Mr. Vinay Bele, Vice President of MCA and President of Nashik District Chess Association, Mr.Sunil Sharma, Secretary of Nashik District Chess Association, Mr. Jayesh Bhandari Treasurer of Nashik District Chess Association.
Arbiter team comprising of Deputy Chief Arbiters IA Bharat S Choughale, and IA Yashpal Arora, Live In charge AnandBabu VL, IA Gourav Kumar Ray, FA Ajinkya Pingale, FA Mangesh Gambhire, SNA Shiva Iyer, SNA Tamizharasan, Murugan Worked efficiently for smooth conduct of tournament without any protest.
