Greetings from the All India Chess Federation. This notice is hereby issued in furtherance of the unanimous decisions taken by the members of the AICF in its Central Council Meeting and the Annual General Body Meeting held on 10.06.2021.
It is hereby informed that ordinarily, in order to prove age of a player, the AICF used to accept birth certificates, provided that the date of issue of the certificate was within 12 months from the actual month of birth. In the event that the birth certificate was issued beyond 12 months form the date of birth, the player was required to prove his age by undergoing an age verification test which was conducted by the AICF.
However, due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the AICF is unable to conduct the tests for those players whose birth certificates are beyond 12 months from the actual month of birth.
Therefore, the members of AICF have unanimously resolved, players whose birth certificates are beyond 12 months from the actual month of birth will have to furnish an Undertaking to the AICF along with all the supporting documents (other than the birth certificate) in order to prove their age. This Undertaking has been uploaded on the website of the AICF and the same can be accessed by the players/parents from there. This Undertaking shall be submitted to the Secretary of AICF. The members of AICF unanimously resolved that the Secretary of AICF shall peruse and analyze these Undertakings and also the supporting documents and then he shall decide whether the player is eligible to participate or not.
This condition shall come into effect immediately.
