The Chhattisgarh State Chess Association, under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation, successfully organized a Grandmaster Coaching Camp in Raipur from 11th to 17th September 2025.

The camp was conducted by Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay, one of India’s most accomplished and respected chess personalities. A total of 20 enthusiastic players from across the state participated in this intensive training program.

Throughout the camp, GM Thipsay shared his vast knowledge and practical experience, guiding participants through advanced concepts of opening preparation, middlegame planning, and endgame techniques. Special emphasis was placed on strategic understanding, calculation methods, positional play, and managing tournament pressure. The sessions also featured interactive discussions, detailed game analysis, and practical exercises, all of which enriched the players’ learning experience.

The participants expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the rare opportunity to learn directly from a Grandmaster, highlighting that the camp significantly boosted their confidence, motivation, and competitive readiness.

On the sidelines of the camp, Mr. Raghvendra Singhania, President, and Mr. Vinod Kumar Rathi, Secretary of the Chhattisgarh State Chess Association, along with GM Thipsay, met with Shri Vishnu Deo, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Arun Sao, Deputy Chief Minister, and Dr. Raman Singh, Hon’ble Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, to apprise them of the ongoing chess development initiatives in the state.

The camp concluded on a highly positive note, leaving young talents motivated, inspired, and better prepared to excel in their forthcoming tournaments.
