SENIOR NATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP POSTPONED

AICF Office 5 years ago

The organisers UP Chess Sports Association vide their email dated 26th Mach 2021 informed AICF that the District Magistrate Kanpur not granted permission to hold the event as there is restriction of mass gathering as per the guidelines of Uttar Pradesh Government.

Moreover the Central/State Governments are issuing various advisories every now and then, it will be difficult for the players to plan and play in the event in a peaceful manner, which required for championship of this stature.

In view of the aforesaid and the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in the country and the various restrictions imposed by Central Government/State Governments/District Administrations the Senior National Chess Championship 2021 scheduled at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh from 13-20 April 2021 has been postponed indefinitely.  New dates will be intimated as and when situation improves.

The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

Best Wishes

Bharat Singh

Hony Secretary
