
India secured a total of 13 Medals which includes 7 Gold in the in the recently concluded Asian School Chess Championships-2023 at Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Delhi lad Hriday Garg performed exceedingly well to secure Gold in all three formats in Under-7 Open category while Vignesh Advaith Vemula added two Gold to the Indian medal tally by winning Under-15 Open Rapid & Blitz events. Pragnya H G in Under-15 Girls Classical and Vyom Malhotra in Under-9 Open Classical are the other two players to clinch the yellow metal.

Vyom Malhotra also added two silver to the Indian medal count by finishing runner up in Under-9 Open Rapid & Blitz while Ammulya Guruprasad in Classical Under-15 Girls and Kasthuri Bhai in Under-17 Girls Rapid fetched the silver medals. Kasthuri Bhai added one Bronze also in Rapid format while Yashvi Jain completed Indian medal hunt with a bronze medal in Blitz format of Under-15 Girls category.
