SNA Seminar & Examination starts at Guwahati
A total of 41 participants from 7 states have started their two days’ Seminar cum Examination at Guwahati from 21 June, 2024. IA Vasanth B. H. is the Lecturer in charge of the program. The program, organised by AICF is hosted by All Assam Chess Association. This is the first of the 2024 series of Arbiters’ training being organised by AICF to cater the challenge of increasing demand of Arbiters at the primary level. Lecturer IA Vasanth B. H. was extended a warm welcome by Mr Rajib Dhar, Secretary of All Assam Chess Association in a brief inaugration chaired by IA Dr Charvak, Vice President of All Assam Chess Association. In his brief speech addressing the participants, IA Dr Charvak thanked AICF for organizing this SNA Seminar at Guwahati as this will give a new generation of SNAs, particularly lady Arbiters, who are in great demand given the increasing number of Tournaments in the East and North East India. Mr Rajib Dhar expressed hope that as a next step, a FA Seminar will also be organised within a year. Lecturer IA Vasanth B. H. thanked the state associations for recommending a mix of young as well as experienced players for the Seminar. The Seminar would conclude on 22 June with an Examination which will determine how many of the 41 attendees from Assam, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Telengana, Tripura and West Bengal will get the licence of SNA.
