World School Team Chess Championship 2023 , at Aktau, Kazakhstan,

Velammal MHS Mogappair school wins Inaugural WSTCC 2023 Under-12, at Aktau, Kazakhstan, with round to spare. The Velammal MHS Mogappair school wins the inaugural World School Team Chess Championship 2023 Under-12, at Aktau, Kazakhstan with round to spare. They won their first 7 rounds out of 8 to score 14 match points staying 3 match points ahead to their nearest rivel Lviv Academic Gymnasium school of Ukraine in final standing. The team consist of Pooja Shree R 1279, Shanmathi, Sree S 1511, Mithun, Pranav 1234,  Aarav A 1607 and  Tanishq Raghvan S 1453 with a captain Velavan Subbiah and Under-18 team captain Aravind Shastri. Aarav A performed exceptionally well by scoring 7 points out of 7 rounds on board 4, while Tanish Raghavan scored 6.5 out of 7 on board 5, Pooja Shree R scored 3 and Shanmathi Sree scored 5 points on 1st and 2nd board respectively. The 8th round of championship starts at 1430 hrs local time and the closing ceremony scheduled at 2000 hrs. All India Chess Federation congratulate Vellamal MHS Mogappair school, players and captain.
