Akash Shocks Cori Jorge In World Junior

International Master G Akash, former Indian National champion upset second seed Cori Jorge of Peru in the eighth round of the World Junior to move into the fourth spot at Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia on September 10, 2015.
Top seed Jan-Krzysztof of Poland leads with 6.5 points after eight rounds. Former Indian zone champion G Akash is in the joint fourth place with 5.5 points, one point behind the leader.
Other Indians: Karthikeyan Murali 5, Gagare 4.5, S.L. Narayanan 4.5, Harsha Bharathakoti 2.5…62 players.
In the girls section, Indians are slipping in the points table. Michelle Catherina is on 4.5 points from eight rounds and shares the 14th place. Top seed WGM Aulia Medina Warda of Indonesia is having a nightmare with four points.
Pratyusha is on 3.5 points and the other Indians are: G.K. Monnisha 3, J Saranya 2.5…48 players.
