East European Players In Lead In World Junior

East European players are in the lead in the World Junior Chess Championships that is taking place at Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia on September 13, 2015.
Top seed Grand Master Duda Jan-Krzysztof of Poland is on 8.5 and is leading by a half point in the Open section while Ukraine’s Nataliya Buksa is leading the Girls’ section by a one point margin on 9/11.
In the open section, India did not have players in the top to challenge the medal aspirants. G Akash (6.5/11), Shardul Gagare, S.L. Narayanan, Karthikeyan Murali (6/11), Harsha Bharathakoti (5/11).
Indian girls have also lost medal chances. Michelle Catherina (5.5/11), G.K. Monnisha, J Saranya (5/11), B Pratyusha (4.5/11). Nevertheless, our players who played at home at Pune last year will also play at home in Bhubaneswar in 2016.
