India won 15 individual medals which include 3 Gold, 7 Silver and 5 Bronze in the recently concluded Western Asian Chess Championship at Issykkul, Kyrgyzstan.


In the Classical format, Tejaswini Ganesan in Under-16 Girls Category and Vedika Pal in Under-10 Girls category won yellow metal while Aadya Ragunath in Under-10 Girls category and Shivika Rohilla in Under-16 Girls category achieved silver. Prishita Gupta in Under-12 Girls Category and Aadya Gowda in Under-10 Girls Category secured Bronze medal. In Under-10 Girls category, all the three medals bagged by India.

In Rapid format, Aadya Ranganath won Gold in Under-10 Girls category while Vedika Pal secured Silver in same age category. Mayank Chakraborty and Bhagyashree Patil added Bronze to the Indian medal tally in Under-18 Open & Girls category respectively.

In Blitz format, Silver Medals were secured by Mayank Chakraborty (Under-18 Open), Bhagyashree Patil (Under-18 Girls), Shivika Rohilla (Under-16 Girls) and Prishita Gupta (Under-12 Girls). Tejaswini Ganesan secured bronze medal in Under-16 Girls Category.
