36th National Under11 Chess Championship 2023

36th National Under11 Open Chess Championship and 36th National under 11 Girls Chess Championship held at Visakhapatnam, Andhra from 1st to 7th October 2023 for a Prize fund of Rs 8 Lakhs.

This prestigious National Chess Championship with Eleven round Swiss format was organized very well by Andhra Chess Association under the aegis All India Chess Federation & FIDE. The venue of the tournament was Rajiv Gandhi A/c Indoor auditorium, Visakhapatnam.

The mega National event attracted 385 participants in Open section and 194 players in Girls section.  Players from  27 States from all over India i.e., Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chattisgarh, Delhi, Goa,Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkand, Karnataka, Kerala, MadhyaPradesh, Maharastra, Odissa,  Puduchery, Punjab, Rajastan, Tamilnadu,  Telungana, Tripura,UttarPradesh, Utharkand,  and West Bengal took part in this event.

Open category 277 Rated chess players and in Girls category 91 fide rated players were participated and made the events so stronger.

Shri K.V.V.Sarma, President, Andhra Chess Association, Shri Bheema Rao, Secretary, Andhra Chess Association along with entire ACA team took lot of efforts and conducted the mega event in an exemplary manner.

Tournament was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Y V Subba Reddy. Ex-Chairman,  TTD & Former Member of Parliament on 1st October at 10am in the presence of Shri Ranjan Mohanty, Joint Secretary, AICF & Shri A.V.Chalam, Treasurer, Andhra Cricket Association.

Aansh Nand Nerurkar of Maharastra scored 10 points and won the 36th National Under11 Open Chess Championship and received cash prize of Rs 80,000 and a glittering Trophy.

Four players Siddhanth Poonja of Karnataka, Aadik Theophane Lenin of Kerala,    Syed Abdul Khader of Karnataka and Mayukh Majumder of West Bengal were scored 9 points each and finished second to fifth respectively on tie break.

Pratitee Bordoloi of Karnataka scored 9.5 points and won the National Under 11 Girls Chess Championship and receivedcash prize of Rs 80,000 and a glittering Trophy.           Siddhi Rao of Karnataka scored 9 points and clinched Runner up prize.  Three players Pavithra  of Taminadu, Saranya Devi Narahari of Telangana and Mysha Perwez of Maharastra were scored 8.5 points each and finished third to fifth respectively on tie breaks.

On the colorful Prize giving ceremony on 7th October Shri K.V.V Sarma, President, Andhra Chess Association welcomed the gathering. Shri Y V Subba Reddy.  Ex-Chairman, TTD & Former Member of Parliament distributed prizes in presence of Shri K.Siva Prasad, President, Telangana State Chess Association and Shri Kasi viswanadh, Chairman, Vishwanadh Sports Club Shri S Bheema Rao, Secretary, Andhra Chess Association rendered vote of thanks
