WFM Vaishali R jumps to sole lead again !!!

Ram Ratna 42nd National Women Challengers Chess Championship-2015 is been organized by Diaspora Times conducted by Thane district Chess Association under the ageis of All India Chess Federation, Maharashtra Chess Association from 02nd July to 11th July 2015 at Keshav Srushti ,RMP Complex.

The tournament Complies of 104 participants from 18 States and 2 Special Units. The participant compiles of 5 Women Grand Masters, 2 International Masters, 5 Women International Masters, 12 Women Fide Masters.

The Time control of the whole championship is 90 minutes each for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes each with 30 seconds increment.

The Top 8 players will be selected to participate in the forth coming National Women Premier Chess Championship-2015 (National A) which is to be held in the mid of October-2015.

In the top Board No.1 Goan Women Star WGM Bhakti Kulkarni and Top Seed and India No.4 IM Tania Sachdev –(Air India) played their game very interesting for the spectators with the Queens Indian Opening , in which from the beginning Bhakti Kulkarni game was favor for her, the game by these players created the scene of interesting to all chess lovers, it lasted for an end game of Knight and 3 Pawns for Bhakthi and Bishop and 3 pawns for Tania, finally game ended in draw.

In the Board No.2 WFM Vaishali R (TN) who is the Joined Leader with 7.0pts/8 with white pieces played with her State Mate WIM Michelle Catherina (TN) 6.5pts/8 , with Queen pawn Openings Side Lines with g3 break off and attack on Queen side, but the game was very tough fight between them and finally it was a march for Vaishali R(TN),8.0pts/9.

In the Board No.3 WGM Swati Ghate(LIC) played with her long batch player WGM Soumya Swaminathan(MAH) with white piece with a game chosen by black for the day is Sicilian Dragon variation which was equal till the 19the move of no favour of player side and finally after that Soumya Played a tactics of exchanging pieces and maintained the advantage of ‘E’ file and she won her game after 5hrs and 10 min of fight.

In the Board No.4 WGM Kiran manisha Mohanty (LIC) and IM Nisha Mohota(PSPB), Signed their peace treaty after 22 moves with a normal regular Sicilian Defence.

In the Board No.5 WIM Pratyusha Bodda(AP) with white pieces started with King pawn and it was defended by Nimzo Indian -Sicilian classical Variation , It was good fight between them and very fast exchange which leads to the end game in 30 moves with in 1 hour and with Knight and Rook is was lasting for good end game show was there ended up in draw after 63 moves in 4hrs 30min.

Standings after Round 9: First Spot WFM Vaishali R (TN) with 8.0pts/9, Second by IM Tania Sachdev (Air India) with 7.5pts/9, 3rd Spot shared by 2 players WGM Bhakthi Kulkarni(Goa), WGM Soumya Swaminathan(MAH), with 7.0pts/9, Fourth Spot is been shared by 4 players, WIM Michelle Catherina(TN), WGM Kiran Manisha Mohanty(LIC), WFM Rucha Pujari(MAH), WIM Ivana Maria Furtado(Goa) with 6.5pts/9.
