India enhanced its presence in FIDE when D V Sundar was re-elected Vice President of FIDE for another term. Mr.D.V.Sundar polled more votes among the 13 contestants. He got 103 votes and was declared elected. He is credited for organising the 2013 World Chess Championship match at Chennai and for cleaning up the over age related issues in India during his tenure as Honorary Secretary of All India Chess Federation. Bharat Singh Chauhan, the Chief Executive Officer of AICF was elected Deputy President of the Asian Chess Federation. Besides being the father figure of Delhi Chess he organises India’s biggest Parsvnath Chess Festival in Delhi every January.
