World Juniors Round 7-Shtembuliak gains the lead

The 7th round of the World Junior chess championships was a great display of chess as usual and the players treated us to some very nice games.
On the first board,the talented Ukranian GM Shtembuliak Evgeny was paired against the Armenian hope GM Aram Hakobyan.
Aram managed to equalise out of the opening but was gradually outplayed by Shtembuliak who displayed impressive technique to snatch a full point.

On the second board,IM Costachi Mihnea of Romania held the favourite GM Karthikeyan Murali to a draw in a game which was balanced throughout and neither player had many chances to play for a win.

Board 3 was an interesting struggle between Indian prodigy GM Praggnanandhaa and Russian prodigy IM Khanin Semen.
Both players played interesting chess but agreed to a draw on move 41 with neither player having great chances to play for a win.

After 7 rounds ,GM Evgeney Shtembuliak has emerged as the clear leader with 6 points ,half a point ahead of GM Santos Ruiz Miguel of spain with 5.5 points and a clear point ahead of 10 players including Indians GM Praggnanandhaa R and GM Visakh Nr with 5 points each.

Girls
The Girls section was action packed and witnessed decisive results on the top boards.
The first board game between WIM Mobina Alisab of Iran and IM Tsolakidou Stavroula was topsy-turvy with both players having chances but neither managing to capitalize and the game finally ended in a draw.

On the second board,WGM Vaishali R of India lost to WIM Shualova Polina of Russia.
Polina won a pawn and even though Vaishali tried to complicate the position with a piece sacrifice,it didn’t work out as Polina played accurately to bag the full point.

ivya Deshmukh played a great game on board 4 to beat Mongolian WFM Altantuya Boldbaatar,Divya played a gambit line in the french defense with the white pieces and managed to put pressure on her opponent who went wrong to secure the full point.

After 7 rounds,WIM Alinasab Mobina of Iran and WIM Shuvlova Polina of Russia are in the jont lead with 6 points each and are being trailed closely by four players including WIM Divya Deshmukh of India with 5.5 points.
