
In a nail-biting tie break match, Grandmaster R Praggnandhaa outwitted compatriot Arjun Erigaisi to seal his berth in the semi final of World Cup at Baku on Thursday. It was an absolute thriller as the outcome decided on 3’+2” sudden death game when two classical, four rapid and two 5’+3’’ games ended with deadlock.


Earlier, the world cup campaign of Vidit Gujarathi and D Gukesh came to an end after losing their Quarter Final encounters against Nijat Abasov of Azerbaijan and Magnus Carlsen of Norway respectively.
