Day 2 Rapid ! Asian Youth Chess Championship 2024

India won 3 Gold & 1 Silver in Asian Youth Rapid Chess Championship, at Almaty (Kazakhstan)

Asian Youth Rapid Chess Championship started here in Baluan Sholaq Sports Hall, Almaty (Kazakhstan) yesterday and India won 3 Gold and 1 Silver Medal in different categories. Total 32 Countries participated in the championship.

In the Under-8 Girls section Narayani U Marathe won the gold medal with 5/6 points. 9th seed Narayani won her last very crucial 7th Round game with second seed Iranian player Asena Golizadeh. She won 5 games and drew 2 games and she was unbeaten in the tournament.

In the Under-10 Girls section, R Pooja Shree won the gold medal with 6/7. Pooja Shree was having 6/6 but lost 7th round in time pressure. She is having a better tie-break. Aaradhya Das lost her last 2 matches and came 4th position.

In the Under-12 Girls section, a big surprise was that the 25th seed Pratitee Bordoloi won the gold medal easily. She scored 6.5/7 and won with all seeded players. Final game she won against Vietnamese player Nguyen Minh Chi.

In the Under-12 Open section P Siddhanth won the silver medal by scoring 6/7. Akhmet Suleyman of Kazakhstan won the championship.

In the Under-8 Open section Hriday Garg was unlucky to miss the bronze medal. He drew the last round and secured 4th Position.

Fide master Krishanan Rithvik, Fide Master Bangwe Gaurang, Ajay Parvthareddy and Harsh Suresh secured 6th to 9th Position in Under 18 Open Section.

The Classical Asian Youth Chess championship will start tomorrow.–
