Final Report of World Cadet Chess Championship 2024 held at Montesilvano, Italy from14th November to 27th November 2024.

The Indian contingent showcased an outstanding performance at the World Cadet Chess Championship 2024, winning two medals:

  • Gold in the U8 Open category by Divith Reddy, who scored 9 points and was crowned champion based on a better tie-break.
  • Silver in the U8 Open category by Sattvik Swain, who also scored 9 points but finished second on tie-break.

India’s impressive medal tally of 1 Gold and 1 Silver secured the Bronze medal in the overall team standings.

However, the team narrowly missed out on additional medals in the final round.

  • Aansh Nerurkar (U12 Open) lost on the top board and finished 4th.
  • Hanya Shah (U12 Girls) also lost on Board 2, ending in 10th place.

Performance Summary of Indian Players:

Under 8 Open

  1. Kavish Palanippan – Rank 7th, gained 166 FIDE rating points.
  2. Ayaan Phutane – Rank 14th.
  3. Mani Subrato – Rank 18th.
  4. Sathvik Chakravarthy – Rank 58th, gained 100 FIDE rating points.

Under 8 Girls

  1. Nakshatra Gumudavelly – Rank 21st, gained 54 FIDE rating points.
  2. Narayani Marathe – Rank 31st, gained 62 FIDE rating points.

Under 10 Open

  1. Advik Agrawal – Rank 10th, gained 68 FIDE rating points.

Under 10 Girls

  1. Pooja Shree R – Rank 6th, gained 128 FIDE rating points.
  2. Samhita P – Rank 19th.
  3. Bhavanya P – Rank 24th.

Under 12 Open

  1. Aansh Nerurkar – Rank 4th.
  2. Aadik Lenin – Rank 83rd, gained 79 FIDE rating points.

Under 12 Girls

  1. Pratitee Bordoloi – Rank 6th.
  2. Hanya Shah – Rank 10th.
  3. Shri Darshini – Rank 11th, gained 103 FIDE rating points.
  4. Pavithra R V – Rank 32nd.
  5. Siddhi Rao – Rank 40th, gained 88 FIDE rating points.
  6. Aadya Ranganath – Rank 44th.
