The Indian contingent showcased an outstanding performance at the World Cadet Chess Championship 2024, winning two medals:
- Gold in the U8 Open category by Divith Reddy, who scored 9 points and was crowned champion based on a better tie-break.
- Silver in the U8 Open category by Sattvik Swain, who also scored 9 points but finished second on tie-break.
India’s impressive medal tally of 1 Gold and 1 Silver secured the Bronze medal in the overall team standings.
However, the team narrowly missed out on additional medals in the final round.
- Aansh Nerurkar (U12 Open) lost on the top board and finished 4th.
- Hanya Shah (U12 Girls) also lost on Board 2, ending in 10th place.
