Md. Reyan from Bihar and Saranya Devi Narahari from Telangana are Champions.

The tournament was officially inaugurated on December 17th, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Sidhu Kanu Indoor Stadium, Durgapur, West Bengal. The ceremony kicked off with the lighting of the lamp, a traditional and symbolic act to invoke wisdom, prosperity, and success for the players throughout the event.

The inauguration was graced by a distinguished lineup of guests, including leaders from the local community, representatives from the All India Chess Federation (AICF), and chess luminaries. Each guest was warmly welcomed with a shawl, a bouquet of flowers, and a small memento along with a jute bag bearing the name of the tournament—highlighting the event’s hospitality and attention to detail.

The 37th National Under-13 Chess Championship 2024 was a spectacular event that brought together 398 young chess prodigies from 28 states across India, all competing for the coveted title. In a gesture of appreciation and to ensure the comfort of all participants, the organizers provided each player with a goodie jute bag that featured the tournament’s logo. Inside the bag, players found an electric water bottle—a thoughtful gift to keep them hydrated and energized throughout the tournament. This small but meaningful gesture reflected the organizers’ commitment to providing a comfortable and welcoming experience for all.
