
Advik Amit Agarwal of Maharashtra and Samhita Pungavanam of Telangana crowned as National Under-9 and National Under-9 Girls Chess Champions respectively at Jamshedpur on Wednesday. Both Advik and Samhita scored 10 points out of possible 11 rounds to emerge as champions while Rahul Ramakrishnan of Puducheery and Jai Prakash Vanum of Andhra Pradesh finished as First and Second runner up in Open category. In the girl’s category Pooja Shree of Tamil Nadu and Divi Bijesh of Kerala finished as second and third respectively.

In the closing ceremony Shri Bharat Singh Chauhan, Chairman FIDE Advisory Board along with Shri Uttam Singh, Vice President Tata Steel gave away the prizes to the winners in presence of Shri Mukul Choudhary, Head of Sports Tata Steel.
