Anwesha Mishra Wins Asian Under-14 Girls Title

Anwesha Mishra Wins Asian Under-14  Girls Title

Anwesha Mishra won the Asian Under-14 Girls section with a round to spare in Mongolia on April 13. Eight rounds are complete and the final round is slated for April 14. More titles are coming India’s way and a heap of medals too are in the offing as Indians are also well placed to make a podium sweep in Under-14 Girls.

Divya Deshmukh is leading the Girls Under-12 section by a one point margin. She is on 7.5/8 and needs a draw in the final round against team-mate Mrudul Dehankar to win this event by a clear margin.

H Bharath Subramaniyam is jointly leading the Under-10 section with Mongolia’s Ochirbat Ukhagvajamts on 6.5/8. They face each other in the final round on April 14 morning to decide the title. Bharath plays black.

Praggnanandhaa is jointly leading the Under-12 section with Batsuren Dambasuren of Mongolia on 6.5/8. Praggnanandhaa faces team-mate Raunak Sadhwani with white in the final round. Batsuren takes on a Chinese player with the black pieces.

Many other Indians are close to winning medals and it includes these players in second position: Khushi Khandelwal (U-14G), Rajdeep Sarkar (U-18), Harshita Guddanti (U-16G), L Jyothsna (U-12G). Those in third position includes: Vantika Agrawal (U-14G), R Vaishali (U-16G), P Iniyan (U-16).

Others closely behind are: K.G.R. Anagha (U-8G, fourth position), Kadakia Veer (U-8, fifth position), Aditya Mittal (U-10, fourth position), V Pranav (U-10, fifth position), Rakshitta Ravi (U-12G, fourth position), Raunak Sadhwani (U-12, fourth position), Bharambe Bhavik (U-14G, fourth position), K Priyanka (U-16G, fifth position), V Varshini (U-18G, fourth position), Chandreyee Hajra (U-18G, fifth position).
