Belarus wins The Vladimir Dvorkovich Cup

The International Youth Team Chess Championship taking place from 22nd – 26, for The Vladimir Dvorkovich Cup 2019 Rapid, had concluded today. Ten Countries including, Belarus, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Canada, India, and Algeria, took part. Each team comprised of two boys & two girls in under -17 year old category.

The cup will consist of two tournaments:
– Rapid Team Tournament
– Personal blitz tournament

Team India.

The Indian players showed good fighting spirit but could not cope up with Rapid time control of 15 minutes + 10-second increment on each move.

Though Indian Team was seeded sixth, they finished 9th ahead of Algeria. The Indian players had got good experience against their formidable young opponents.

It is noteworthy that young WCM L. Jyothsna of India, showed an excellent understanding of chess Strategy, and immaculate end game technique, to score highly impressive, seven points out of nine games, winning six, drawing two and losing just one game. Her total score on 4th Board was second Best in the tournament, only next to
