Indian team got off to a good start at the world cadets chess championship 2017 being held at Porto de Caldas in Brazil. On Tuesday, 19 Indian players won their respective games in the first round. The second and third rounds will be held on Wednesday.
Former age-category world champions Rakshitta Ravi (U-12 girls) and Bharath Subramanyam (U-10 boys) are heading their respective sections due to their superior Fide rating when compared to other competitors. The 11-round event will end onAugust 31.
