Kashmir calling Chess Players

AICF Admin 12 years ago

kashmir3One of the most beautiful places in the world is hosting a Under-Elo 2000 rating tournament from October 2-6 at Srinagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir.

The best way to reach Kashmir is to take a flight from Delhi. The other way is to take a train to Jammu and then take a bus (Rs.300/Rs/400 for the 8-hour journey from Jammu to Kashmir) or a Tempo Traveller (Rs.500 and upwards per passenger one way).

The tournament is organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Chess Association with a first prize of Rs.25,000 and trophy. It will be nine rounds. The entry fee is Rs.1000 and the payment for lodging is Rs.1700 (four days) per player on twin sharing basis.

Players should make best use of this opportunity to see places as it is one of the most beautiful places in the planet. The weather we are told will be 25C high to a low of 10C. And if there is a western disturbance, they can see snowfall early!

“This is the first chess tournament in Kashmir, and if it is a success, more events will happen,” said Atul Kumar who is the President of the J&K Chess Association.

The venue is only 2 km from the World famous Dal Lake. Venue is 1.5 km from the Bus stand and 10km from the airport.

Plan your next vacation now. Combine chess and holidays. You can see places before this event or after the event.

Boating, boat houses, cable cars, icy mountains, brilliant gardens invite you to visit the place most people around the world dream of visiting once in their lifetime.

You can contact the organiser on e-mail: alljkchessasso@rediffmail.com or call/sms on 9906010563 or visit www.alljkchess.com
