Meenal receives State Sports Award in Chess

JAMMU, Nov 25: Meenal Gupta, only chess player of J&K to receive SAI award for her Commonwealth medal, today received the State Award in a simple presentation ceremony that took place at Civil Secretariat, here.

The award carries Rs.51000 cash, Gold medal worth Rs.1.25 Lacs and momento. Meenal is also recipient of Sher-e- Kashmir award which carries Rs.50,000 cash, momento and sports dress. She was also honoured with Rangil Singh award by the J&K Olympic Association.
Meenal Gupta had won two Commonwealth medals, Gold in 2016 and Silver in 2018. She has participated in various international events in various countries including European events at Barcelona Spain, World Junior at Turkey , World Sub Junior at Montevideo among others competitions.

 

Recently, Meenal authored a motivational book titled, “The Golden vision” # The vision Matters – opportunities can be created.
