MPL 9th National Amateur Chess Championship-2022 report

MPL 9th National Amateur Chess Championship organized by Jaipur District Chess Association on behalf of Rajasthan Chess Association   started at Mahal Rajwada Resort, Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur on 3rd of May 2022 and  attracted 455 entries from 24 States and two special units. Rajasthan fielded the maximum number of entries.  The tournament  was conducted  in below 2300, below 2000, below 1700 open and below 1700 women. Since most of the female players are opted for the open categories in below 2300 and below 2000, these groups are merged and conducted  open category only. 9 round swiss format tournament will be held from 3rd may to 7th May 2022.

Shri Ashok Chandna  Minister for Sports and youth affairs Govt. of Rajasthan inaugurated the event in the presence of Mr. Ashok Bhargava, the organizing secretary, Shri. Ajay Gupta, the treasurer of Rajasthan Chess Association and Shri. M Ephrame, the Chief Arbiter.

Round 4

Below 2300 section:

Kumar Gaurav  of  Bihar and Koustav Chakraborty of West Bengal are in lead with four points at the end of 4th round.

Below 2000 section:

Trivedi Karan R and Apoorv Kamble are in lead with four points at the end of round 4.

Below 1700 women:

Hanya Shah of Gujrat and Swasti Jha of Delhi are in lead with 4 points at the end  of round 4.

Below 1700 Open:

10 players are leading with 4 points at the end of the 4th round in the field of 268 players which covers the maximum number of participation.
