National Under 07 Open and Girls 2019:  Sri Akhil Prasad and Siddhi Rao win

Ninth seed Sri Akhil Prasad of Andhra Pradesh scored 9.5/11 and finished half-a-point ahead of the competition. Rishabh Kumar of Delhi and Apaar Saxena of Karnataka finished at 9.0/11 each. They were placed 2nd and 3rd respectively as per their tie-break score.

Siddhi Rao of Karnataka scored 9.5/11 to win the girls section. Despite losing the last round she became champion. Sannah M also finished at 9.5/11, since she lost to Siddhi earlier in the tournament, she had to settle for the 2nd position. Sreekarthika Velmurugan of Tamil Nadu scored 9.0/11 and she was placed 3rd.

The tournament witnessed a total of 313 children including 197 in Open and 116 in girls from 27 and 22 different states across the nation including various union territories.

It was organized by Global Chess Foundation and Bengal Chess Association from 1st-6th June 2019 at The Newtown School. Total prize fund worth ₹200000 was distributed among top 20 in each category.

The tournament concluded without a single dispute from the players.
