Online Asian Nations Cup Under-14 Team Chess Championship-2022 : Double delight for India

India B team consists of Md Imran, Sharon Rafael, Mritunjay Mahadevan, Jaivardhan Raj, Rosh Jain and non-playing Captain TJ Suresh Kumar won the Online Asian Nations Cup Under-14 Team Chess Championship which concluded on Sunday.

The championship organized by Chess Federation of Sri Lanka on behalf of Asian Chess Federation through Tornelo Platform attracted total number of 19 teams and India ‘B’ registered 7 victories and 2 peace treaties to assimilated 16 points to be the winner while Philippines ‘A’ finished as first runner-up and India-A team consists of Sankalan Shah, Sreyas Payyappat, Aarav Dengla, Om Manish Kadam and Arhaan Chethan Anand finished as second runner up with 15 match points.

Meanwhile in the girls section, India ‘A’ consisted of Mrittika Mallick, Alana Meenakshi Kolagatla, Anupam Sreekumar, Sneha Halder, Myra Singh and non-playing captain Prasenjit Dutta dominated the event registering 8 wins and a draw to score 17 match points out of a possible 18 to lift the champions trophy while Singapore and Mongolia finished as first and second runner-up respectively.

Rosh Jain and Mrithyunjay Mahadevan become Board Gold Medal winners on Board No. 3 and Board No. 5 respectively while Sreyas Payyappat on Board No. 2, Aarav Dengla on Board No. 3 and Om Kadam Manish on Board No. 4 secured Silver.

In girls section, Mrittika Mallick and Sneha Halder secured yellow metal as Board Prize in Board No. 1 and Board No. 4 respectively while Shreya Hipparagi on Board No. 1 and Anupam Sreekumar on Board No. 3 achieved silver. Chaarvi Choudhary secured Bronze on Board No. 5 to complete the Indian domination in the event.
