Seven Indians In Top 100

There are seven Indians in the World Top 100. Naturally, Viswanathan Anand No.8 and Pentala Harikrishna No.12 are in the upper end of the top. These numbers are from the just released October FIDE Rating List.

There are an equal number of women in the Women World Top 100. India has two women in the top 10 and it includes Koneru Humpy at No.4 and Dronavalli Harika at No.10.

In the countries list, India are fifth in both men and women. In the Baku Olympiad that concluded last month in Azerbaijan, India finished impressive fourth in men and fifth in women.

The world top 10: 1 Carlsen 2853, 2 Kramnik 2817, 3 Caruana 2813, 4 Vachier-Lagrave 2811, 5 Aronian 2795, 6 Wesley So 2794, 7 Hikaru Nakamura 2787, 8 Viswanathan Anand 2776, 9 Karjakin 2772, 10 Liren Ding 2764, 11 Mamedyarov 2762, 12 Harikrishna 2762, 51 Adhiban 2689, 56 Vidit Gujrathi 2686, 72 Surya S Ganguly 2672, 75 P Negi 2670 and 97 K Sasikiran 2654.
