ANDAMAN and NICOBAR CHESS ASSOCIATION ORGANISES
Andaman and Nicobar Chess Association organised a Chess Training camp from 15thMay 2017 to 19th May 2017at one of the most sought after star hotels in Port Blair- TSG Emerald View. The camp was conducted under the able guidance of Mr Lanka Ravi, International Chess Master and FIDE Senior Trainer.
The inaugural day kick started with a simultaneous display in which 40 students participated in the Simultaneous Chess Game.
During the chess training the students were taught on the “preparations for a tournament” as a refresher program. Opening preparation, Middle game Tatics, and End game preparation were discussed at length using a power point presentation.
Students were supported with the relevant material and books to be mastered for effective learning of chess game.During the chess training session students were given wide opportunity to participate in solving puzzles too. Students were guided on how puzzle solving will enhance child’s intellectual skill and problem solving abilities.
On the valedictory day an open forum was organised for parents and trainees.They utilised this opportunity and discussed about various International chess tournaments and opportunities available for their wards. All the questions were answered by the team on the Dais and they also explained the measures and initiatives taken by ANCA and AICF in promoting Chess in All over India and incentives available from Government and various educational institutions. Students were also informed of encouragement given to the high achievers and also job opportunities provided by the Government and various PSUs.
Andaman Chess Association President Shri. G.Bhaskar spoke on the valedictory function Bhaskar and assured his continuous support to all the budding stars of the Islands.
Shri. H. Dinesh Secretary of ANCA said that ANCA shall organise Chess training programs like the one happened on regular basis to improve the game standards and help local talents to bring medals for Andaman and India.It may be noted that ANCA will organise National Under 25 Chess Championships from 13th July to 19th July, 2017.
