World Team Chess Championship Report Day 1 & 2

Report for Day 1 (20th November 2022)
India faced the host country Israel and Poland on the first day of the World Team Chess Championship. The match against Israel was evenly fought and ended in a 2:2 Tie with a draw on all four boards.
In the second round of Day 1, India was paired against Poland. SL Narayanan scored a victory against Polish Grandmaster Bartel Mateusz whereas SP Sethuraman lost against Janik Igor which led to an even score with another 2:2 draw. Vidit Gujrathi drew against Radoslaw Wojtaszek and Nihal Sarin drew against Piorun Kacper.
Report for Day 2 (21 November 2022)
India beat Azerbaijan, the highest rated team of the tournament, 2.5:1.5. Vidit Gujrathi scored the decisive victory against Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (World No.14). The other three boards resulted in fighting draws.
India lost the fourth round against the Olympic Champions, Uzbekistan. SL Narayanan made a draw against Vokhidov Shamsiddin and the others suffered unfortunate defeats.
