Pentala Harikrishna drew Dmitry Jakovenko in the final round to finish seventh in the FIDE Grand Prix that concluded at Geneva on July 16, 2017.
Harikrishna started well beating the top seed Levon Aronian but a crucial loss to Li Chao of China in the second half allowed him to finish just one place above his start rank.
Harikrishna played at 2783. He would be gaining five Elo for his 5/9 score.
The final placings: 1 Radjabov (Aze) 6/9; 2-3 Grischuk (Rus), Nepomniachtchi (Rus) 5½ each; 4-10. Mamedyarov (Aze), Giri (Ned), Svidler (Rus), Harikrishna (Ind), Adams (Eng), Li Chao (Chn), Riazantsev (Rus) 5 each…18 players.
