International Solving Contest-10

For the first time in India, an International Solving Contest (ISC) will be held at Chennai.

This annual event organised by the World Federation for Chess Composition (WFCC)  will be held simultaneously in 30 countries. Renowned solvers of the world (including several Grandmasters) will be taking part.  All of them will be given the same set of problems for solving. The Solving Contest will start simultaneously in all the 30 countries coinciding with Central European time.11 AM

This  event will be held in Chennai at the  Mylapore Club premises on the 26^th January 2014 between 3.30 PM to 8 PM.

The Solving Contest will be held in two Categories.  Category 2 is for beginners and Category 1 is for experienced solvers.   Solvers in Category 1, will be eligible to get International Solving rating points.  They will required to solve 12 chess compositions of various types (like twomovers, threemovers, moremovers, helpmates,selfmates and endings) in two sessions of two hours each.  Category 2 will solve only 8 (easier) problems.

All the leading Chess players and solvers in Chennai are requested to participate and avail this rare opportunity of competing with the world’s best.  There is no entry fee.  The problems and solutions of the previous ISCs can be seen at
