Aravindh Chithambaram & Vaishali emerge National Junior Champions

15 year old Grandmaster & World Under-16 Silver medalist Aravindh Chithambaram (Velammal School, Mogappair West, Chennai) emerged the National Junior Chess Champion with a score of 9.5/11 in the PSNA CET National Junior & Girls (U-19) Chess Championship 2015 at the PSNA College of Engg & Technology at Dindigul, here today. Aravindh wins his second National Junior Champion title, having won the first a few years ago in Goa.
Woman FIDE Master R Vaishali,Velammal School, Chennai with 8.5 points, won the National Junior Girls title with a superior tie-break score ahead of Woman FIDE Master G K Monnisha (TN) and Harshita Guddanti (AP) respectively. Both the champions are trained by Grandmaster R B Ramesh.
Former National Premier Champion and International Master G Akash took the lead with 7/7 start. But Aravindh defeated Akash in their individual encounter and moved ahead, clinching the title with comfort. Akash finished second, while Grandmaster Karthikeyan Murali (both TN) took the third spot.
PSNA CET is conducting the third National chess event in the past decade showing their support and commitment to the cerebral game.
